Manchester United put in another strong display against Watford on Sunday afternoon. The Red Devils won 3-0 thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood. And it was the former who stole the show.Man United put a lot of work in to sign Fernandes in January and they finally got their man late in the transfer window.United ended signing him in a deal potentially worth £67.6 million, a lot of money for a Portuguese league player, but he's already proven to be worth every penny.

Fernandes had won Man-of-the-Match in his first two league games and he was brilliant again against Watford as he made it three awards from three.

He scored his first goal for the club in the 42nd minute.

The midfielder was taken down by Ben Foster inside the box and he converted the resulting penalty.

He then provided the assists for both Martial and Greenwood's goals to cap off what was an incredible display.

As well as his three goal contributions, Fernandes also created four chances, won three fouls and completed all three of his take ons.

He was also given a 9.21 rating by WhoScored.com, the highest rating given to a United player in a game this season.

It really was a special display.

And his highlights from the game have already been compiled and you can watch them below:

Fernandes didn't come cheap but, after his first four displays for United, he's already looking like a bargain.

The former Sporting player spoke to the BBC after the game, where he expressed his joy about scoring his first goal in a red shirt.

"This is the day every player wants to have. I feel lucky to score," he said.

"Everyone knows we want to get into the Champions League places. I am here to help the team conquer this place and keep winning games, it's what I want to do, it's what I need to do."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also raved about his January signing.

“In today’s market, I think we got a good deal,” Solskjaer said, per the Independent. “He has come in from day one and felt like a presence in the group from the first minute, demanding the ball in training.

"Some players take some time in warming up, but he felt confident right away. It is a bit of a mix between Scholes and Veron, with the temperament of Veron and a lot of the quality of Scholesy.

“He is going to be a very important part of what we do. We have needed that. He knows is coming here to play. He risks the ball like Veron did and I used to enjoy playing with Seba because you make runs and he looks for you.”
