Eduardo Camavinga has been making the headlines for his brilliant performances this season.The French midfielder made his debut for Rennes last year at the age of just 16.He has since become an integral part of their first team, featuring 24 times and scoring once for his side this campaign.The youngster is one of the best teenagers in world football and he was in the side again for Rennes' home game against Nimes.His side didn't get off to the best of starts, however.
Nimes took the lead after just one minute through Nolan Roux.
But Rennes, who were looking for all three points to move into the top three in Ligue 1, restored parity six minutes later through M'Baye Niang.
Nimes were reduced to 10-men in the second half and it was through a brutal challenge from their captain, Anthony Briancon.
The defender was initially given a yellow card for a quite brutal clothesline on Camavinga.
The decision went to VAR and the yellow was upgraded to a red card, meaning Briancon was given his marching orders.
Ouch. That is brutal.
John "Bradshaw" Layfield (JBL), who became known for the 'Clothesline from Hell' during his WWE career, would have been proud of that before.
To be honest, it didn't look overly intentional from Briancon.
But it still looked like an awful challenge and he was rightfully given his marching orders.
It's just amazing that he decided to plead his innocence when he was sent off.
After treatment, Camavinga was able to continue but was replaced just 15 minutes after the challenge.
The red card proved to be costly for Nimes as Niang scored an 89th minute winner to give the hosts all three points.
Rennes move up to third but remain a distant 18 points off PSG in first.
Nimes, meanwhile, remain in 18th and in danger of being relegated to the second tier of French football.
