Malky Mackay heaped praise on Danny Graham after the striker scored for the fifth game running in Watford's 3-0 win over Ipswich.

The 25-year-old notched his 24th goal of an impressive campaign as the Hornets boosted their play-off hopes.

Mackay believes they have what it takes to get involved in the promotion shake-up, saying: "I was delighted with the result against formidable opposition. Danny Graham is a total team player. He ran their back four down on his own. That's a centre-forward you want to have in your team - not just a poacher but a team player."

He added: "We started very well and the goal gave us a great platform. It allowed us to suck Ipswich onto us and then try and catch them on the counter-attack.

"To then come out in the second half and limit Ipswich as we did was very pleasing. I was delighted tactically with the way the boys kept their discipline.

An angry Paul Jewell was left to rue defensive errors and a lack of cutting edge from his side.

"We give goals away for fun and aren't ruthless enough in either box," he admitted. "The first goal was a catalogue of errors, almost comical, and then you're always playing catch-up.

"The second then summed us up because after playing some pretty passes, we were brushed off the ball and the next thing we know it's in the back of the net.

"Between both boxes, we probably had more possession than them but do you think we're really going to score a goal?"
