Jamie Carragher believes Mohamed Salah is under-appreciated by Liverpool fans

Jamie Carragher feels Mohamed Salah is underappreciated at Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah has been nothing short of a revelation since signing for Liverpool back in 2017.

There were doubts, though, when they paid £35m to AS Roma for what was essentially a Chelsea 'reject'.

Salah hadn't had a good time with the Blues at all and Liverpool going in for a club-record fee raised a few eyebrows.

The Egyptian answered every question quickly, however.

Salah broke the record for Premier League goals in a 38 game season in his debut campaign, scoring 32 and 44 in all competitions.

He followed that up with 27 goals in his second season, as well as scoring in a victorious Champions League final.

It's 18-and-counting this season, too, as Liverpool dominate the Premier League in a way not seen before.

And yet, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher feels that Reds fans actually underrate Salah.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, Carragher explained that some would even sell one of the greatest goalscorers of recent years.

"[Salah] is seen as world-class from outside but with Liverpool fans, I think he's a little bit underappreciated," said Carragher.

"Speaking to Liverpool fans, looking at social media - I think Liverpool have got six world-class players.

Salah has broken scoring records at Liverpool.

"I think they've got the goalkeeper [Alisson Becker], I think they've got Trent Alexander-Arnold, they've got Virgil van Dijk and they've got [Sadio] Mane, [Roberto] Firmino and Salah.

"I think if you asked Liverpool fans would they take big money for any of the five, taking Salah out, they'd all say no.

"No matter what the figure was, no chance they'd sell the keeper or Van Dijk - not a chance. But say 'I'd give you £130m for Salah' they'd say 'Yeah' or 'I'll think about it'".

It's a highly-debatable take, especially as Salah has 87 goals and 32 assists in two and a half seasons.

If he really isn't appreciated as he should be, it's tough to see how much more Salah could do to win everyone around.
