Liverpool are having a sensational season if you hadn't noticed.

They extended their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-2 win against West Ham United on Monday but that wasn't the only stat to come out of it.

The Reds also equalled Manchester City's record for consecutive Premier League wins (18) and the English top-flight record for consecutive wins at home (21).

Liverpool are 22 points ahead at the top of the table now - a record lead - and yet it's not even March. They're only four wins from winning the whole thing.

It's all truly remarkable and this season will go down in the history books, no matter what happens.

And a lot may still happen - they're approaching Arsenal's 49-game unbeaten record and they're still on for the Treble.

That latter one is the big one, though, and Liverpool will fancy their chances of achieving it, too, given that they're dominant in England and are the reigning European champions.

So how do they stack up against the only Treble winners England have ever had - Manchester United's '99 team?

Well, quite incredibly, they've already matched their points-tally.

That United side got 22 wins, 13 draws and 3 defeats from their 38 matches, giving them 79 points.

This Liverpool team have 26 wins and one draw from 27 games - enough for 79 points of their own.

It's sensational, especially as Liverpool are still competing for the other trophies United won that campaign (and already have two in the cabinet).

There is a big difference, of course - United won the three biggest trophies on offer, while Liverpool merely could.

They've still got some way to go before matching what that team achieved - even if they've already achieved a historic season of their own.
