We're into gameweek 27 in the Premier League this season and VAR is still making headlines.

In the very first match of the weekend between Chelsea and Tottenham, it messed up big time.

Everyone could see that Giovani Lo Celso deserved a red card for his stamp on Cesar Azpiliceuta apart from the inexperienced David Coote, who was in charge of VAR.

Despite Michael Oliver standing two yards away from the monitor as he waited for Coote to make a decision, he didn't go to have a look himself.

They later admitted that VAR had made a mistake.

Then, there was major controversy during Burnley vs Bournemouth.

Bournemouth thought they had gone 1-0 up before VAR ruled it out for handball. In the second half, the Cherries thought they had made it 1-1. However, VAR brought the play back to award Burnley a penalty. From 1-1 to 2-0 down in the matter of seconds.

As you probably know by now, we here at GIVEMESPORT aren't VAR fans.

That's why, each week, we work out how the Premier League table would look without VAR.

To do that, we look at all of the overturned VAR decisions and work out what would've happened in each match if they hadn't been overturned. It requires a bit of guesswork but it's all fun and games.

So, how does the Premier League table look without VAR after the latest batch of fixtures?

Let's take a look:

Below is the round-up of incidents in gameweek 27.

1st | Liverpool | Points: 75 | Points difference: -4

Game: West Ham (H)

Incident: Sadio Mane's 86th-minute goal was disallowed by VAR due to offside.

Outcome without VAR (LIVERPOOL WIN): Mane's goal would have put Liverpool 4-2 ahead with just minutes remaining. As it was, the Reds held on to a 3-2 victory.

2nd | Man City | Points: 60 | Points difference: +3

Game: Leicester (A)

Incident: Manchester City were awarded a second-half penalty for Dennis Praet's handball - a penalty which was missed by Sergio Aguero.

Outcome without VAR (MAN CITY WIN): Aguero missed the penalty anyway so the VAR decision didn't influence the match.

3rd | Chelsea | Points: 47 | Points difference: +3

4th | Leicester | Points: 45 | Points difference: -5

Game: Man City (H)

9th | Man Utd | Points: 37 | Points difference: -4

Game: Watford (H)

Incident: Troy Deeney thought he had equalised for Watford in the 52nd-minute but VAR spotted a handball from Craig Dawson.

OUTCOME WITHOUT VAR (MAN UTD WIN): So, without VAR, it would've been 1-1 just after half-time. But considering United actually won the game 3-0, we back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to still have earned all three points in the remaining 40 minutes.

10th | Tottenham | Points: 37 | Points difference: -3

NO OVERTURNED VAR DECISIONS IN GAMEWEEK 27

11th | Burnley | Points: 36 | Points difference: -1

Game: Bournemouth (H)

Incident 1: Josh King's opener was ruled out by VAR because of Philip Billing's handball in the build-up.

Incident 2: Harry Wilson's goal was disallowed and a penalty to Burnley was awarded instead for Adam Smith's handball in the penalty area in the build-up.

OUTCOME WITHOUT VAR (DRAW): Where do we start with this one? Right, so Bournemouth would have taken a 22nd-minute lead if it wasn't for VAR. That certainly would have changed the game. Burnley did take the lead in real life and, without VAR, Bournemouth would have equalised and Burnley wouldn't have been awarded a penalty. It's a tough one to work out because goals change games and it would've been a completely different match. But considering Burnley won 3-0 (admittedly because Bournemouth were pushing forward in search of goals), we think a draw would've have been the most likely result without the interference of VAR.

Burnley did take the lead in real life and, without VAR, Bournemouth would have equalised and Burnely wouldn't have been awarded a penalty. It's a tough one to work out because goals change games and it would've been a completely different match. But considering Burnley won 3-0 (admittedly because Bournemouth were pushing forward in search of goals), we think a draw would've have been the most likely result without the interference of VAR.

18th | Watford | Points: 24 | Points difference 0
