Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 could be held in the UK at Old Trafford

A third and final bout between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder is beginning to look very likely.

After their first fight ended in a controversial draw, Fury left nothing to doubt in the second, dismantling Wilder with a brutally efficient performance.

Wilder’s team had no choice but end the punishment, throwing in the towel in the seventh round to hand Fury a well-deserved win.

In the aftermath of the bout, Wilder has furiously outlined a plethora of questionable reasons as to why he was so incredibly outboxed in Las Vegas.

From the weight of his ring-walk costume to conspiracy theories within his own camp, Wilder has coughed up every excuse in the book to justify the first loss of his professional career.

Considering the world really was against the poor chap, it is no surprise that he intends to trigger the rematch clause set out in the second fight’s contract.

However, it is Fury that holds all the aces now, and he and his camp will be able to dictate the terms of the negotiations with regards to a third match-up.

Speaking on the almost inevitable rematch, promoter Frank Warren outlined that he think’s it’s time for Fury to fight in the UK once again.

“He deserves the chance to fight as a WBC world champion in front of his home fans,” Warren began.

I’d love to do it in Manchester at Old Trafford. That’s always been a dream of Tyson’s.

“Directly after the fight Tyson said he’d love to do the unification fight with Anthony Joshua. That’s his next target. He wants to unify the belts, but he’s prepared and happy to fight Wilder again.”

While fans are desperate to see Fury and Joshua come to blows, another ding-dong battle with Wilder under the famous old lights of the Theatre of Dreams could be quite a special occasion.

We can only hope that Warren stays true to his word and we get Fury back fighting on British shores once again.
