Lorenzo Insigne is one of the finest players in world football.Blessed with pace, skill and an eye for goal, the Italian is a nightmare for defenders. However, the one thing the Napoli striker doesn't possess is height, with the 28-year-old standing at just under 5'4".He's never going to be scoring any headers, that's for sure.Due to his small stature, Insigne is often handed the tallest mascot for the pre-match lineup and it was no different tonight against Barcelona.

Images of Insigne next to a child nearly as tall as him quickly done the rounds on social media as the game kicked off.

We feel your pain, Lorenzo.

Below, you will find a selection of other occasions when Insigne was handed a mascot pretty much matching him in height.

Big things do come in small packages though and Insigne's impressive goal record for Napoli is testament to that.

He's notched 86 goals in his 334 appearances for the club, as well as contributing with 72 assists.

Back in 2017, Insigne admitted that he believed his small stature would destroy his dreams of becoming a professional footballer.

"They used to say I had some talent, but was too short," Insigne told UEFA.com.

"At one point, I wanted to quit football, as the scouts all told me the same thing and I thought it might be futile to continue. Then I had a trial with Napoli and it went well."

The success of Diego Maradona - who stood at around 5'5" - clearly proved that height is not necessary to thrive with Napoli in Italian football.

A great decision by the club!
