Cristiano Ronaldo is the king of the Champions League.

The 35-year-old has scored more goals in Europe's premier competition than any other player, winning the trophy five times across spells with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Now, Ronaldo is gunning to win 'Big Ears' with a third club from a third country and tonight's match against Lyon will see him enter the knockout stages for the second time with Juventus.

It's believed that bringing the Champions League back to Juve, who suffered final defeats in 2015 and 2017, was one of Ronaldo's biggest motivations for arriving at the Allianz Stadium.

This time last year, Ronaldo needed a heroic performance in the second leg of the Old Lady's round of 16 tie against Atletico Madrid to turn things around, bagging a remarkable hat-trick.

Ronaldo's Champions League greatness

And although elimination against Ajax in the next round rendered it futile, Ronaldo's one-man comeback demonstrated yet again that nobody is better on the Champions League stage.

So, in celebration of the fact Ronaldo is returning to the business end of the competition, BT Sport have paid homage to some of his greatest moments when the chips are down.

The fact of the matter is that Ronaldo is a big game player and some of his greatest ever goals have come about when the Champions League final is in his grasps.

Ronaldo's 10 best knockout goals

His Puskas Award-winning strike at Porto and THAT bicycle kick against current employers Juve are some obvious selections, but which other screamers have made the cut?

Well, kick back and get yourself hyped for the Ronaldo show by checking out his top 10 strikes below:

Oh baby.

Most players couldn't produce those goals in their entire career, never mind in one half of one competition.

Ronaldo's brilliance under pressure

It's hard to look past the bicycle kick as Ronaldo's greatest ever goal and while the counterattack against Arsenal is probably too high in second place, it's most certainly worth of praise.

It's also nice to see the header at AS Roma getting some time in the limelight, because it never gets old seeing Ronaldo sprinting into the box and rising like a human wrecking ball.

But regardless of which goal you think is the greatest, let these stunning strikes serve as evidence that Ronaldo relishes the European stage and particularly when things start to heat up.

Say what you like about the eternal debate with Lionel Messi, there can be no denying that the Champions League belongs to CR7.
