Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov have recently come head-to-head in the former’s gym in a teasing, yet friendly, tussle.

Khabib, who unified the UFC lightweight division in September 2019, confronted Cormier by asking him if he thought he had the better gym.

Cormier turned the Instagram video meta by claiming that social media followers was just “white noise” and that Khabib’s money “means nothing” in his gym.

The former UFC heavyweight and light-heavyweight champion claimed that he was the top dog in his gym and asserted that he actually taught Khabib how to jab.

Cormier jibed that prior to his teaching of the Russian fighter, Khabib had soft jabs.

Khabib, who has a 28-0 record and has most recently defeated Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor inside the Octagon, began to joke with Cormier that he had the better jab.

Cormier then forced Khabib to shake his hand and finally gave up the ghost, admitting that he was very proud of his former protégé.

Of Khabib’s 28 victories, 12 have been with UFC. The Russian made his debut with the company in north America back in January of 2012 on a UFC on FX card.

His upcoming fight, on April 18 against Tony Ferguson, will headline the UFC 249 card in New York.

Cormier has registered 22 victories in his professional MMA record and is looking to bounce back from only his second defeat that came at UFC 241 against Stipe Miocic where he lost his UFC heavyweight championship.

Cormier held both the heavyweight and light-heavyweight titles at the same time between his heavyweight win over Miocic in July 2018, and his relinquishing of the light-heavyweight championship in December 2018.

Cormier hasn’t fought since the defeat to Miocic in August 2019 and is aiming to finish up his MMA career with the third in a trilogy with Miocic to reclaim his UFC heavyweight championship and end his professional career on a high.

Khabib, meanwhile, has consistently sparred off rumours that he could be in for a rematch with McGregor in late 2020 or early 2021.
