WWE has announced Goldberg will make an appearance on SmackDown tonight following his Universal Championship win at Super ShowDown.

Goldberg sent shockwaves around the wrestling world last night after he defeated ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt to capture the Universal title for the second time in his career.

Many fans were angry with WWE after the WCW icon won the Universal Championship in the main event of Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia on Thursday night.

Now, WWE has announced the WWE Hall of Famer and new Universal Champion will be appearing on SmackDown tonight in Boston.

There’s no word on what Goldberg will be doing on the blue brand show, but WWE is teasing that The Fiend could be there to confront him.

WWE stated on their website: “Goldberg is headed to Friday Night SmackDown, and he's bringing the Universal Title with him.

“The WWE Hall of Famer sent shockwaves through the sports entertainment world when he defeated "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt at WWE Super ShowDown.

“Instead of who's next, the WWE Universe will be wondering what's next for Goldberg as he heads into his second reign as Universal Champion.

“Will "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt reemerge to confront the first man to stop his twisted rampage? Or will Goldberg target a new member of Team Blue?”

Speaking to WWE.com after Super ShowDown, the WCW icon said it was an honour to win the Universal Championship for a second time.

He said: "First thing, I'll be limping out of Saudi Arabia. But hey man, it's an honor just to be here and to be able to go out there and attain this belt again, this title again. It's a dream come true, it truly is.

"It's something you always shoot for, but the older you get, the further that pinnacle is away you think, and I'm just... I'm in awe.

“I had to hit him with everything I had, as quickly as I had, as quickly as I could. Catch him on surprise, catch him off guard, just like I did Brock Lesnar.

“You know, you gotta hit guys before they're ready, especially at my age. So, it worked, I'll just strike it up as another conquest."

Goldberg is rumoured to defend the Universal Championship vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36, so WWE could also start the build for that match on tonight’s show.

We’ll have to wait and see, but nevertheless, the reaction the WCW icon receives tonight will also be intriguing.

John Cena was previously announced for tonight’s SmackDown as well. It’s unclear as to what he will be doing on the show, but he too could also start the build for his rumoured WrestleMania match vs Wyatt.
