Arsenal crashed out of the Europa League in heartbreaking fashion on Thursday evening.

Winning the Europa League was perhaps Arsenal's best chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League.

And, after an impressive 1-0 victory over Olympiacos in Greece, they were heavy favourites to progress to the last-16.

But they were forced into extra-time after Papa Abou Cisse scored the only goal in the opening 90 minutes.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang looked to have sent Arsenal through when he acrobatically put them ahead on aggregate once again.

All Mikel Arteta's side had to do was hold on prevent Olympiacos from scoring to keep their hopes of Europa League success alive.

However, Olympiacos scored a dramatic last-minute winner through Youssef El-Arabi.

That prompted wild celebrations from the away end, while Arsenal supporters were left in disbelief.

It was a dramatic moment. But what could make El-Arabi's goal even better?

By giving it the Titanic music treatment, of course.

Unsurprisingly, the video has gone viral having attracted over 5.5k retweets and 14k 'likes'.

El-Arabi's goal being dubbed to Titanic music would never have happened had Arsenal been able to equalise straight after, though.

They had a golden opportunity to do so when Aubameyang found himself unmarked in the box and just six yards out.

With just the goalkeeper to beat, Arsenal wouldn't have wished for the chance to have fallen to anyone else.

But the Gabonese striker inexplicably put the ball wide with the goal at his mercy.

And that was the final nail in the coffin for Arsenal as the final whistle blew seconds later.

That was Arsenal's first defeat of 2020 and Arteta was not happy about being knocked out of the competition.

"It hurts, big time," Arteta said, per Sky Sports.

"We had a lot of hope in this competition. It was a great way for us to be able to go to Europe and it is a very beautiful competition to try to win.

"I think we did a lot of positive things in the game. I think we created enough chances to win the game, but if you concede two set-pieces again in a tie like this, then you put yourself in big trouble."

The Gunners' best hope of qualifying for the Champions League now rests by finishing in the top four of the Premier League.

They are currently seven points away from Chelsea but could also sneak into the competition by finishing 5th, assuming Man City's ban is upheld.
