WWE is reportedly planning more than just a singles match for Edge and Randy Orton at this year’s WrestleMania.

WWE has been building up the feud between Orton and Edge ever since The Rated-R Superstar came out of retirement and returned to the ring at the Royal Rumble back in January.

On the Monday Night Raw following the Rumble, Edge was taken out by The Viper with a chair shot to the neck and we haven’t seen him on TV since.

WWE has advertised that Edge’s wife, Beth Phoenix, will be on Raw next week to give an injury status update on her husband.

Edge himself is expected to make his next WWE appearance on the Raw following the Elimination Chamber show. He’s been advertised for the date by the arena hosting Raw that week.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has something special planned for The Rated-R Superstar’s first singles match in WWE in nine years at WrestleMania.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via Ringside News, stated the planned Edge vs Orton match for WrestleMania 36 will receive ‘stipulations to be named later’.

It’s currently unclear as to what stipulations will be added to Edge vs Orton at the Showcase of Immortals.

The fact Edge vs Orton will be The Rated-R Superstar’s first singles match since he faced Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII is more than enough to get the fans interested.

However, a stipulation in this match will help it stand out more on what is rumoured to be a stacked WrestleMania card.

Two matches have already been booked for the show. Brock Lesnar will defend the WWE Championship vs Drew McIntyre, while Charlotte Flair will face Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Universal Champion Goldberg is rumoured to defend his title vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, while speculation has suggested John Cena will face ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt at the event as well.

Becky Lynch will also defend the Raw Women’s Championship against the winner of the women’s Elimination Chamber match, which will either be Shayna Baszler, Ruby Riott, Asuka, Natalya, Liv Morgan, or Sarah Logan.

AJ Styles is expected to face The Undertaker on the show, plus we will have the annual Battle Royal matches for the men and women, and other title defenses and matches.

Adding a stipulation to Edge vs Orton will certainly help it stand out from the crowd and make it look like one of the more important matches at this year’s Showcase of Immortals, as it should be.
