Brazilian star is 'part of the family' at the Lane

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro is becoming an integral part of the furniture at White Hart Lane.

The Brazilian ace moved to north London from Internacional in the summer of 2010, and after taking his time to break into the starting line-up on a regular basis has now made the spot his own.

“I know I have had to wait for my opportunity but it came in a big match against AC Milan. I was happy with my performances and I feel like I am part of the family at Spurs as we look forward to the next round of the competition," the 22-year-old told the official Tottenham Hotspur website when referring to the Champions League last 16 clash.

“I know there are big matches coming up now so we need to keep our concentration for both the Premier League and Champions League. We have a good squad with many qualities and everybody knows their responsibilities to do everything well.”


Sandro had kind words for the fans also, who have taken to the Samba star and his energetic performances in the centre of the park for Spurs.

“I really enjoyed the moment with the Spurs supporters and the team, but this is in the past now and we’re looking to the future and the next match."

That match is against West Ham United, with the east London club traveling across the capital for an early Barclays Premier League clash this Saturday.

Vying for a start, the youngster has an experienced head on his shoulder already and is keen to continue impressing at every opportunity.

“I know this derby with West Ham is a very important match. Everyone in the team knows their place and what everyone’s doing to keep our run going," the player concluded.

"For me it’s about keeping my concentration and my position in the team, so I hope to be successful in this next match."
