The Gunners took a 1-0 lead into the second leg and were expected to cruise past Olympiacos at home.
But that didn't happen.
After a goalless first half, Pape Abou Cisse headed in from a corner to square the tie and his away goal was enough to send the game to extra time.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang thought he won it for Arsenal with a brilliant bicycle kick in the 114th minute. But seconds before the final whistle, Youssef El-Arabi poked home.
In the blink of an eye, Olympiacos were through into the last 16 of the Europa League and the Gunners were dumped out.
It seems Arsenal's embarrassment will extend beyond the pitch though because according to reports, the club now owes fans over £4.5 million.
Per the Evening Standard, every Arsenal season ticket holder has paid for seven home cup games.
Now they've been knocked out of Europe, supporters can only watch a maximum of six.
Should the Gunners be knocked out of the FA Cup away to Portsmouth next week, the club will have to offer fans a rebate for two missed games.
The money due will vary, but it's believed to average out at £50 per seat.
Given there are around 46,000 season-ticket holders at the Emirates, the club would have to pay out more than £4.5m to their fans.

This news comes on the same day the Gunners posted a £27.1m financial loss in 2019.
Champions League absence no doubt impacted Arsenal's finance, but it seems unlikely they will turn a major profit this year after being knocked out of the Europa League so early.
It's been an embarrassing week for the north London club, both on and off the pitch.
