Aston Villa legend Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Jack Grealish is too good for Manchester United, and urged the Aston Villa star to turn down any potential move.

Grealish has been Villa's talisman since their return to the Premier League, routinely catching the eye with his stunning performances for the struggling Villains.

Having been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham and Manchester United in the past, rumours have resurfaced once again that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will return with an offer for the playmaker in the summer.

Despite seeming a perfect fit for United's new policy of exciting, young domestic talent, however, former Villa striker Agbonlahor thinks a move to United could be detrimental for Grealish's career.

“I am not just saying this because I have played with him, but I honestly think he is the best attacking midfield option that England have got at this current time.” Agbonlahor claimed in an interview with The Sun.

"When people say Grealish to Manchester United, he could do so much better than that. He could walk into any team in the world, even Barcelona or Juventus".

Despite playing for relegation-threatened Villa, Grealish has ranked amongst the most creative players in the league this season, registering six assists in his 25 starts - and adding a further seven goals himself.

Whilst United would undoubtedly present a significant step up in standard from his current position, however, Agbonlahor feels a lack of Champions League football could be a major barrier to his development.

"For where Manchester United are now he could go to better teams around the world, so he doesn't need to limit himself to just United and focus on teams who are playing in the Champions League.

"The good thing about Jack is that he can run with and without the ball, play in different positions and score goals. He is the type of player that fans of football will go to a game to specifically watch him, even if they aren't fans of Villa".

The claim that Grealish could walk into any team in the world is certain to provoke much debate amongst fans of both Villa and the English national side.

Despite still having not received a single cap for his senior international side, Grealish is the most productive English midfielder in the Premier League this season - triumphing over the likes of James Maddison, Dele Alli, Jordan Henderson, and Mason Mount.
