What on earth have we just witnessed?! Liverpool's extraordinary run of 44 Premier League games is OVER after a shock 3-0 loss at Watford. An Ismaila Sarr brace was followed by a fine strike from Troy Deeney to hand the Hornets the most remarkable result of the Premier League season. While it's unlikely to have any real ramifications for the title race (Liverpool are still 22 points clear at the top even if Manchester City now have a game in hand), it is still a hammerblow to Jurgen Klopp's men who are now unable to match Arsenal's 'Invincible' season from 2003/04. There will probably still be a Premier League trophy heading for Merseyside, but it won't be the gold one that Arsene Wenger's side were rewarded with 16 years ago for an incredible feat that has never been matched. Seriously, put some respect on Wenger's name. The fact Klopp, and arguably the greatest side the Premier League has ever seen, haven't matched their record just sums up what a phenomenal achievement it was. Arsenal fans might not feel in celebratory mood after Thursday's Europa League exit in the dying seconds against Olympiacos. Still, you've got to take your victories where you can. The Gunners have every right to bask in the rippling sunshine of Watford's glory and that was summed up by the club's official Twitter account immediately after the final whistle.

One word: 'Phew...'

They then followed it up by congratulating Liverpool on their run.

Liverpool's run shouldn't be lost in all of this.

It's just that nobody expected it to end this way. Not at Vicarage Road.

The Reds had just one shot on target and had half of Watford's attempts.

Nigel Pearson must be due a knighthood, surely?

He's the most popular man in the red half of north London this evening, at least.
