The route from the Etihad to Wembley is a well-trodden path - especially this time of year.Manchester City have won four League Cups in the last five years and were looking to add to that record against Aston Villa.Could they win it for the third consecutive season?Pep Guardiola’s side were coming off the back of a brilliant victory at the Bernabeu in midweek as they look to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. City’s eggs are firmly in that basket - especially with a two-year European ban hanging over them.Winning another League Cup probably isn’t too high on the list of priorities for City - but it’s a piece of silverware they will welcome. However, it seems the fans are getting a bit bored of winning this competition. That’s because they failed to sell their allocation at Wembley and plenty of empty seats were spotted during the cup final.

It seems mad that a club can’t sell out their tickets for a cup final, doesn’t it?

And fans were quick to mock City for their lack of supporters.

Of course, their Etihad Stadium is often nicknamed the ‘Emptyhad’ after sometimes failing to sell out during Premier League matches.

Those fans that did make the trip to Wembley were celebrating early on when Sergio Aguero converted from Phil Foden's nod down.
