WWE news: CM Punk thinks today's wrestling isn't for him

Red Carpet Premiere Of Girl On The Third Floor At The Chicago International Film Festival

CM Punk has said today’s wrestling isn’t for him during a recent interview when gave an analogy regarding his generation compared to today's generation.

Punk left wrestling completely when he abrupted departed from WWE following the 2014 Royal Rumble.

While there has always been rumours about where he could pop up next, he only reinserted himself back into wrestling late last year when he joined Fox’s WWE Backstage show as an analyst.

During a recent interview on Kevin in the Morning with Allie & Jensen to promote his new movie Girl On The Third Floor premiering on Netflix this week, Punk was asked for his thoughts on today’s wrestling.

This was where the former WWE Champion said today’s wrestling isn’t for him by using a baseball analogy regarding his generation compared to today's generation.

He said, via Wrestling Inc: "It's wild. There's a lot of it. There's so much wrasslin'.

"So I'm like the old grizzled hitting coach that a new baseball team hires, and I come in like, 'oh man. These guys don't even know how to swing a bat.

“What are they doing? You don't need batting gloves and the elbow guard. Come on. Let's get back to basics. What are you all doing?'

“I understand. It's not for me. It's not my generation. It's a completely different game. There's good, and there's bad."

Punk was also asked about his own in-ring future in wrestling and if he gets antsy about a possible return.

He said: "No. I get uncomfortable because I'm like, 'aw come on just no.'"

Time and time again, Punk has said he has no plans currently to return to the ring, and it looks like his feelings on a possible in-ring return haven’t changed.

The former WWE Champion did say recently that he could technically wrestle for AEW while working for WWE Backstage, but he doesn’t think Fox would be cool with the decision.

For the time being, fans will have to keep on hoping Punk returns to the ring at some point, but it doesn’t look promising.
