When you think of the best striker in the world, a few names immediately spring to mind.

Robert Lewandowski has been at the very top of football for the best part of a decade and scores a truckload of goals every season for Bayern Munich.

Harry Kane has been scoring goals almost at will for Tottenham, while Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema have been world-class for years.

Cristiano Ronaldo has also made the successful transition to centre-forward in recent years.

We've looked at stats provided by WhoScored.com to see who has been the best striker in Europe's top five leagues this season.

It's important to note that the stats only take into account their performances in league games and not cup competitions.
