Who predicted Liverpool losing 3-0 to Watford on Saturday evening? If you did, you’re either Nostradamus or a liar. After 44 games unbeaten, the Reds were humbled at Vicarage Road with Ismaïla Sarr and Troy Deeney helping the relegation-threatened side to a victory. It shouldn’t make too much difference to the destination of the Premier League trophy, though Jurgen Klopp’s side are still 22 points clear at the top - although they have now played an extra game than second-place Manchester City. But how do they react to their first league defeat of the season? They face a trip to Chelsea on Tuesday in the FA Cup, a Premier League clash against Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday before their second leg Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid next Wednesday.Dwelling on their loss to Watford could see them crash out of two competitions over the next eight days. And in an attempt to lift the spirits of their players, a Liverpool fan placed a banner outside the Melwood training ground on Monday. The banner is a famous quote from Bill Shankly and read: “You’ve got to have courage became courage is the ability to get up when things r getting u down, u get up and fight back.”

A nice supportive message but rivals fans think it’s a bit over the top.

And they were quick to mock Liverpool for overreacting to their first defeat.

After the shock defeat, Klopp admitted that he hopes that it could potentially be a blessing in disguise.

“Sometimes a little knock is important," Klopp admitted.

"So I don’t see anything negative in it. From time to time if you are not good enough, you need to see [the] effect.

"Not good enough – what happens then? So restart. Maybe the longer the [undefeated] run goes maybe it becomes more important. But I didn’t see that today. Now it is over. We can start again with whatever we did before, and we will.”
