VAR was at it once again this weekend.

During the opening fixture of gameweek 28, the technology disallowed Kelechi Iheanacho’s goal during Norwich vs Leicester because of a slight handball.

There was only one other overturned VAR decision at the weekend - but it was a big one.

Everton thought they had scored a last-minute winner through Dominic Calvert-Lewin but VAR ruled it out after adjudging Gylfi Sigurdsson to be offside just in-front of David de Gea.

Whether it was the correct decision or not, the incredible scenes at Goodison Park were instantly killed.

We’re sure you’re well aware by now but we here at GIVEMESPORT dislike VAR. That’s why, each week, we identify how the Premier League table would look without it.

To do so, we look at every overturned VAR decision from the previous gameweek and speculate how it’s impacted the match in question.

For example, without VAR, Everton would have beaten United and, therefore, we’ve awarded them three points and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side get zero.

So, here’s how the Premier League table would look without VAR after gameweek 28.

NO OVERTURNED VAR DECISIONS IN GAMEWEEK 28

3rd | Leicester | Points: 48 | Points difference: -2

Game: Norwich (A)

Incident: Kelechi Iheanacho thought he had put Leicester 1-0 up just after half-time but his goal was disallowed by VAR for a handball.

Outcome without VAR (LEICESTER WIN): You could argue that it would have been a draw after Norwich actually won the match 1-0. But if Leicester had taken a 49th-minute lead through Iheanacho, they would have been big favourites to go on to win the match.

Game: Manchester United (H)

Incident: Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury-time goal was disallowed by VAR because Gylfi Sigurdsson was adjudged to be offside as he lay infront of David de Gea.

Outcome without (VAR EVERTON WIN): This is an easy one to work out. Calvert-Lewin’s disallowed goal was virtually the last incident of the match so Everton would have won without the interference of VAR.
