Inter Miami CF's first MLS game didn't exactly go to plan.David Beckham's side travelled to Los Angeles FC hoping to get a win in their first ever competitive match. But they were beaten 1-0 thanks to a piece of brilliance from Carlos Vela. The Mexican forward, who won both the Golden Boot and MVP last year, scored the only goal of the game with a brilliant lob in the 44th minute.Given Beckham used to play for LA Galaxy, LAFC's city rivals, the home fans would have been ecstatic about getting one over Beckham. The Englishman was of course in attendance at the Banc of California Stadium and he was 'trolled' by home fans before the game.Beckham decided to sit in the stands prior to the game to take in the surroundings. There was a portion of LAFC fans that were already in their seats. They spotted Beckham sitting by himself and they decided to direct a chant at him.It wasn't the most menacing of chants, however, as they chanted 'you look lonely' at him while he sat by himself.Watch the moment below:

Can't say that's the most menacing of chants.

Beckham did take it in good spirits as he smiled, blew kisses and clapped the fans.

But, despite the LAFC fans just having a bit of fun, their chant has been mocked by football fans  across the globe.

Despite the defeat, Beckham said he was proud of his side and was optimistic about the future.

"Very proud moment for our club today and the team did us proud," he said, per the Evening Standard.

"It's been a long journey but this is only the beginning. To Diego, the team and our entire staff...we should be very proud how far we have come and what the future holds.

"Exciting times ahead."
