Chelsea are in the middle of a goalkeeper crisis.

It was hoped that the position would be filled for a long time after the club splashed out on Kepa Arrizabalaga in 2018.

The Spanish goalkeeper replaced Thibaut Courtois and signed for £71.6 million - a world-record fee for a goalkeeper.

However, Kepa has underperformed in his one-and-a-half years at the club.

Kepa was recently dropped by Frank Lampard and there have been reports that he could be sold in the summer.

Willy Caballero has performed adequately since replacing Kepa but, at the age of 38, he is by no means a long-term solution.

Thus, it is believed that Lampard is looking to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer.

But who could they be after?

According to Italian journalist Nico Schira, Chelsea have already made contact with AC Milan goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Schira says that AC Milan are thinking of selling their number one goalkeeper in the summer for financial reasons.

Chelsea have been in contact with Mino Raiola and are ready to offer a salary of €8M a year to the goalkeeper.

There is no doubt that signing Donnarumma would be a great signing. But he won't come cheap.

The Italian stopper has recently turned 21 and is set to be at the top of world football for a long time.

Despite his age, he's already one of the best goalkeepers in the world..

On top of the transfer fee, the Blues will also have to pay Raiola a truckload of money, and we all know that he will demand a ridiculous fee.

To make things even tougher for Chelsea, they are not the only team interested in Donnarumma.

Schira says that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also made contact with Raiola about a potential move, while Juventus are observing the situation carefully.

So it will be a tough task getting Donnarumma through the door. But what a signing it would be for Chelsea if they are to pull it off.
