Liverpool-born Molly McCann will square off against America's Ashlee Evans-Smith at UFC London on March 21.
The flyweight bout will be on the preliminary card at the O2 Arena. McCann has competed in 12 professional fights and has a record of 10 wins and two losses. Her opponent on the night Evans-Smith comes into the fight with a record of six victories and four defeats.
The contest is set to be an interesting one, with 29-year-old, Molly, wanting to prove she is one of the Ultimate Fighting Championship's best flyweights.
“Ashlee Evans-Smith is the perfect opponent for this fight night," McCann told Standard Sport. "I’m coming full circle and I feel like this is going to be proper graduation. I’ve done freshers, I’ve had my second and third year now, that’s what this feels like.
"It’s a striker versus grappler, that’s what it is, even though she likes to box and kick and I like to take down now. It’s a fight that’s going to propel one of us and I know it’s going to propel me.
"There will be no critics then, nothing left unanswered. I get this out of the way and I show to everyone that non-stop hard work and determination gets you there."
The O2 Arena is not unknown to Molly, having last fought there in March 2019. She won her bout against Priscila Cachoeira and subsequently kick-started a current three-fight win streak.
The win also went in the history books, making her the first English woman to win in the UFC.
Though complimented by McCann, Evan-Smith's record is something that the Liverpool fighter can take as an advantage going into the fight, with the American only winning one of her last four belts.
