Liverpool have hit a bad spell of form.
The Reds were so good for the first half of the campaign.
Heading into February, they were still unbeaten in the Premier League and were still in both the Champions League and the FA Cup.
They were threatening both an Invincible season and the treble.
However, Jurgen Klopp's side have struggled in recent weeks and have lost three of their last four games. They were shocked 3-0 by Watford to lose their Premier League unbeaten run, while Chelsea dumped them out of the FA Cup in midweek.
Liverpool are still in the Champions League but could also exit that after losing 1-0 in their last-16 first leg to Atletico Madrid. They will have to overturn that deficit when the Spaniards visit Anfield next week.
Despite all their success this season, there have been critics saying it would still be an underwhelming campaign if they 'just' win the Premier League.
Virgil van Dijk was asked about those critics after the defeat to Chelsea and he's hit back.
“Just end up with the Premier League? Yeah? Just? It’s just a small thing is it? We also won the Super Cup and the World Cup of [club] teams," Van Dijk said, per Goal.
"In life, there are people that are not always satisfied. They are always looking for negative things in life.
"That’s just the reality. Either you’re going to think about these things and go on with it and go on with that negative spirit, or you just focus on the good things, and I’m definitely focusing on the good things. We are in a very good situation.
"Close to what we all hope to achieve. Let’s just go for it, enjoy it. Tonight is a big blow but we were playing against a very good side. Let’s focus on 'just' the Premier League, because it’s very small, huh?"
Van Dijk speaks the truth.
They have already won two trophies, with the Premier League almost certainly going to be their third.
And winning the Premier League is no small feat, as Van Dijk says.
Critics are acting as if it would be underwhelming but this is a trophy Liverpool have tried so hard but failed to win for the past 30 years.
Even if Liverpool don't add any more silverware other than the Premier League title, it would still be an extremely successful season.
Van Dijk also hit back at those that claimed Liverpool weren't bothered about winning the FA Cup.
"I think that’s stupid to say [Liverpool weren't bothered about the cups], in my opinion," he added. "Every competition we participate in, we want to win. We showed it tonight with the line-up and the way we kept going, the energy we put in.
"We tried to do as much as possible to win the game."
