Lauren Hemp is looking to be part of Phil Neville's starting XI for England's SheBelieves Cup opener against the United States on March 6.

According to reports, Neville told his squad on Wednesday which 11 players he will start against the World Cup winners.

With Beth Mead out of the competition due to injury, Hemp will be hoping Neville calls upon her services on the wing.

The 19-year-old, who plays for Women's Super League side Manchester City, has scored five goals in her last 10 league starts for the club.

If selected to play in Orlando, she is determined to "play with no fear".

"I'm just going to play my game and hopefully show everyone that I can beat any right-back that I come up against," said Hemp.

"It's just having that confidence to take players on and know I have the ability."

During last summer's World Cup, the winger was watching the Lionesses "on TV at home". However, now part of her country's senior squad for this tournament, she is adamant to "prove that I should be here" for the SheBelieves Cup.

Hemp joins seven of her City teammates in the squad, including Steph Houghton and Jill Scott. With more attention on the Lionesses since their impressive performances at last year's World Cup following 2019 SheBelieves success, Hemp emerging into the England squad has been highly anticipated.

The 19-year-old has been recognised back in Norfolk, where she is from, due to her excellent form in the WSL this season.

"I don't get spotted often in Manchester because I feel like there are a lot of celebrities around," said Hemp.

"But I did get noticed in my chip shop once. It probably wasn't the best place to get recognised. I wasn't actually getting something.

"It was some young girls from the local side that I had played for so it was nice that they recognised me."
