Many eyebrows were raised when Manchester United completed the signing of Odion Ighalo on Deadline Day in January.United were in desperate need of a new striker to compensate for Marcus Rashford's prolonged injury absence and it felt like half the forwards in world football were linked with the Red Devils.Ighalo was the man who answered the call, signing on loan from Shanghai Shenhua and he's already turning those raised eyebrows into praise. The Nigerian striker is proving to be a big hit, scoring his second and third goals for the club tonight in the 3-0 win over Derby County in the FA Cup.That's now three goals in two starts for the former Watford striker after Ighalo bagged his first in the 5-0 demolition of Club Brugge in the Europa League. You can't ask from much more for a player that many believed would be a monumental flop in the famous red shirt.Every time he's donned the pitch for United thus far, he's looked more than good enough to play in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side and a permanent move is probably already on the cards. You can watch Ighalo's goals from tonight below. No wonder United fans had 'Nigerian R9' trending on Twitter all evening!

IGHALO'S GOALS

Well played, Odion.

United will now meet Norwich City in the quarter-final of the FA Cup after a pretty dominant display at Pride Park.

Jesse Lingard gave the visiting side the lead under rather fortuitous circumstances on 33 minutes, with Luke Shaw's shot cannoning off the forward's back and into the goal.

Ighalo struck eight minutes later to pretty much end any hope of Wayne Rooney returning to haunt his former team.

Midway through the second-half, he scored his second of the night on the rebound, equalling the goal record of Henrik Larsson during the Swede's short loan spell at United in 2007.

The Nigerian is proving all the doubters wrong and living his dream. Who would dare bet against him adding to his tally against Manchester City on the weekend?
