Andreas Pereira has been on the peripheries of Manchester United's squad ever since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January. The Portuguese midfielder has been a revelation since signing from Sporting Lisbon, adding both a goal threat and the ability to actually create chances for the strikers.Pereira was unable to do both during his time in the starting XI under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United fans are relieved that the Brazilian is no longer one of the first names on the team sheet. The 24-year-old wasn't even trusted to start away at Derby County in the FA Cup last night, with Fernandes once again reprising his role in midfield. However, Pereira was brought on with 68 minutes on the clock and in typical fashion, he delivered some moments of comedy gold. The BBC website's live blog posted straight after his arrival on the pitch: "Andreas Pereira's first action is to blaze a cross into the stands."

Always start as you mean to go on, Andreas.

Then during his short time involved in the game - which United comfortably won 3-0 - Pereira baffled everyone by dummying left to right in ridiculous fashion to try and outwit the opposing defenders before a throw-in.

The ball wasn't even thrown to him in the end..

He doesn't help himself, does he? But the best was saved until after the full-time whistle, with United legend Wayne Rooney further endearing himself to Red Devils supporters.

The 34-year-old approached Pereira and appeared to give him a light slap on the cheek.

It was, of course, done in a light-hearted manner, but that didn't stop United fans revelling in the thought that one of their greatest players of all-time despised the Brazilian as much as them.

Rooney himself enjoyed a bittersweet evening against his beloved United. The 34-year-old was pretty darn good in the centre of midfield, but was on the end of a 3-0 loss.

He'd probably be a far better option for Solskjaer's side than Pereira and that's not even a joke...
