Liverpool were desperate to get back to winning ways against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon following a string of poor results.
The Reds had lost three of their past four fixtures prior to this weekend’s clash against the Cherries.
They were beaten 1-0 by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and have since been beaten by both Watford and Chelsea in the Premier League and FA Cup, respectively.
Although they’re still miles clear at the top of the Premier League table – 22 points clear, to be precise – Liverpool’s recent run of concerning form meant it was imperative to bounce back with a victory against relegation-threatened Bournemouth.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side got off to the worst possible start against Eddie Howe’s side.
Callum Wilson gave the visitors a shock 1-0 lead at Anfield in the ninth minute – but should it have been allowed to stand?
Klopp and everyone else associated with Liverpool were left fuming because they felt VAR should have disallowed the goal following a push by Wilson on Joe Gomez.

It’s easy to see why Klopp was angry – but the decision has split football fans down the middle.
While Liverpool fans are fuming, others believe Gomez needed to be stronger in that situation.
VAR clearly agreed and Liverpool found themselves trailing once again.
However, Mohamed Salah then put the Reds back on level terms midway through the half with a smart finish from Sadio Mane’s pass.
Mane then completed the turnaround shortly afterwards to make it 2-1 to the hosts.
