Liverpool have now amassed more Premier League points than Manchester United's 1998/99 side.
Although the Reds' mission to go the season unbeaten crashed and burned at Watford last week, they're still ploughing their way through history and records en route to the title.
And with Liverpool's projected points total standing well north of Manchester City's current record from 2017/18, you can bet that many legendary Premier League teams will soon be overtaken.
Ninety points are needed to match Arsenal's 'Invincibles', 92 will be necessary to draw level with Sir Alex Ferguson's greatest ever champions and 95 is the total to beat for Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.
However, Liverpool are already well on their way to dethroning those who came before them and United's 1996/97 champions were the first to fall in mid-February.

But now, Kopites can truly start to boast as they've surpassed the 79 points that were laid down by the United side that famously won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup all in one.
It's an impressive feat that will forever go down in the footballing history books, but the fact of the matter is that competing on three fronts was really detrimental to them in the league.
While, yes, winning the league is still winning the league regardless of the particulars, 79 points represents the third-lowest total to have ever secured the Premier League title.

In fact, the proceeding United team of 1999/00 was actually a stronger team in the league, accumulating 91 points and bagging six more wins than the previous season.
And its banality, in relation to fellow Premier League champions, has been highlighted by the fact Liverpool have now eclipsed it despite playing nine games fewer.

Are Liverpool a better Premier League team than 1999 United? Yes. Are they a better team overall? Of course not.
The fact nobody has matched United's achievement since 1999 is testament to how difficult competing on three fronts really is, especially in the wake of Liverpool being knocked out of the FA Cup.
You have to make sacrifices in order to win all three competitions, so it's perhaps no surprise that their points tally doesn't shape up to Liverpool's and that should be no major criticism.
But it's simply inaccurate to say that 1999 United are a better Premier League team than the current leaders when even their team of the following season outshone them.
That being said, for as long as Liverpool fall short of winning the main three trophies, their legacy will never truly compare to that of their rivals in Manchester.
