UFC News: Slow motion footage shows why fans are calling Weili v Jedrzejczyk one of the best fights ever

Slow-motion footage from the Weili v Jedrzejczyk bout has shown why fans are calling it one of the best UFC fights of all time.

Twitter user @Jay_Sully4Life has shared the footage, which shows some heavy blows from both of the female fighters.

The video shows a series of huge exchanges between the pair, which are just some of the incredible highlights from the fight. It includes some massive hooks and even a spinning back fist by Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Weili went on to win the UFC 248 bout by majority decision, with two of the three judges giving her the victory. But both fighters deserve respect after what was an incredible fight from start to finish. The performance even earned each of the fighters $50,000 for Fight of the Night.

Zhang Weili was the champion going into the fight, holding the UFC Women’s Strawweight belt. Her opponent, 32-year-old Polish fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk, was a strong contender and held a record of 16 wins to three losses going into the bout.

Jedrzejczyk had to go to the hospital after the fight as she suffered intense head swelling from Weili’s blows. She was barely recognisable after the fight, showing how much damage had been done and how many blows she had fought on through.

This fight is being labelled as one of the best fights in UFC history, and certainly the best in UFC women’s strawweight history.

It pitted two of the best fighters around against one another, and what came afterwards was a stunningly destructive bout.

As expected, Twitter reacted in amazement at what they had just seen. One user said ‘this is the greatest fight I have ever seen’, while another called it the greatest UFC fight in women’s history of the sport.

Both fighters deserve huge respect after taking part in such a brutal and intense bout. A potential rematch could be on the cards, which would surely be just as incredible as the first.
