Scott Steiner was sent to hospital after he collapsed backstage at an Impact Wrestling event this weekend. However, his wife and Tommy Dreamer say he should make a full recovery.

Wrestling fans were worried for Scott Steiner earlier this weekend after reports emerged stating he had collapsed backstage at an Impact Wrestling event in Atlanta on Friday night.

Paramedics worked on him at the event before he was taken to an emergency room at a local hospital.

The 57-year-old has since spent the weekend in the hospital and he underwent heart surgery yesterday. His wife and Tommy Dreamer have provided an update on his health status, saying he should make a full recovery.

Steiner’s wife, Christa, tweeted on Saturday night thanking everyone for their prayers and support, saying Steiner is going to make a one-hundred percent recovery.

She tweeted: "First of all I went to thank everyone @IMPACTWRESTLING for taking such great care of my husband @ScottDAmore, @THETOMMYDREAMER, @johnnyswinger2, @JoeyRyanOnline, @IMPACTWRESTLING & Cobb County EMTs.

“We appreciate all the well wishes, thoughts & prayers. He will make a one-hundred percent recovery."

Dreamer gave the same message in his tweet as well.

The ECW icon said: “Scott Steiner is expected to make a full recovery. Thank you all for your concerns & prayers. 99% Life + 1% death = Genetic Freak. Steiner math continues. Holla if ya hear me. #BigPoppaPump"

After an initial extremely worrying situation, the wrestling world will be absolutely thrilled to hear that the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion is going to make a full recovery.

Fingers crossed we see Big Poppa Pump back in and around wrestling soon, but this recent medical scare may force him to hang his boots up for good.

Steiner is a wrestling icon in many fan’s eyes, so if he does decide to stop wrestling, he’ll be calling it a day on a very successful in-ring career.
