Wales eased to victory on their return to the Racecourse Ground with a comfortable 2-0 win over Estonia.

The attacking Welsh side put on an impressive performance and secured the win thanks to goals from Megan Wynne and super-sub Nadia Lawrence.

Megan Wynne - who is on loan to Bristol City from Spurs - broke the deadlock by scoring her first international goal, just before Lawrence doubled the lead.

As the first-half progressed, Kayleigh Green was at the heart of the action by providing Wales with several chances.

The Estonian goalkeeper Karina Kork was crucial for the visitors - as she denied Green in a full stretch finger-tip save, just inside 10 minutes.

Chelsea player and Welsh captain Sophie Ingle produced two fine volleys which were also saved by Kork – but as Wales began to dominate possession, the pressure on Kork started to rise.

The opening goal came from Ffion Morgan’s saved header, which fell to the feet of Wynne - who did not make any mistakes when finding the back of the net.

Shortly after Wales doubled their lead through Lawrence, after a burst of energy from teammate James.

Wales dominated the game, however, a clinical performance in front of goal could've seen them double the scoreline.

The international friendly will prepare Wales for the remaining Euro 2021 qualifiers against the Faroe Islands and Norway.

In her post-match interview, Wales manager Jayne Ludlow said to BBC Sport Wales:

“We give lots of respect for the Estonian team under relatively new management in Jarmo Matikainen.

“We know how good a job he did with us and they are far more organised than they ever have been.

“There were times tonight for us where we could have been more clinical in our decisions but across the board, it was good competition for us. It was what we needed at this point in time”.
