Scott McTominay put the cherry on top of a fantastic derby win for Manchester United on Sunday. In the seventh minute of injury time, the midfielder seized upon Ederson’s careless throw to smash the ball into an empty net from 40 yards out.Much of the attention immediately focused on Ederson’s mistake but McTominay deserves praise for the effort he showed to meet the Manchester City goalkeeper’s throw. The Scotland international expressed his delight after beating United’s fierce rivals when he spoke to Sky Sports at full-time.“That was such a sweet moment,” McTominay said, per the Evening Standard, as he reflected on his fifth goal of the season.“It’s beautiful to win against City. I know a few City fans so I can’t wait to rub that in their faces.”McTominay’s strike has now been given the Titanic treatment and it’s safe to say it’s made even better with the dulcet tones of Celine Dion.

Superb.

McTominay put in a sublime showing against City, as evidenced from his stats from the encounter.

The victory extends United’s unbeaten run in all competitions to 10 matches and former midfielder Roy Keane believes the latest triumph is something the club and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needed.

“Brilliant. Ole needed it and the club needed it,” Keane said on Sky Sports, per the Manchester Evening News.

“It wasn't a brilliant performance but it was dogged. It was a really good performance. I really enjoyed it.

"I haven't seen the atmosphere like this for a long time. I felt it was more of a derby for United today than City.

They have been under a lot of pressure. They have done well today. It is a big boost for Ole.
