Manchester City suffered another poor result on Sunday afternoon.Pep Guardiola's side travelled to Man United clinging on to hope that they could somehow catch Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title. But they were outclassed by United at Old Trafford.Ederson made two howlers either side of half-time which gifted Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay goals.Despite having a lion's share of possession, City were unable to find a way past David de Gea and thus succumbed to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to their fierce rivals. It was a poor performance by Man City, especially in the first half, and Guardiola would no doubt have been frustrated.Footage has emerged of the 49-year-old making his way back to the bench after half-time and it's fair to say he looked like a broken man.He sat down and put his face in his hands before chatting to his assistants.

Multiple images also show Guardiola with his head in his hands while on the touchline.

To compound his misery, he was then told to be quiet by Bruno Fernandes as the game came to a close.

Guardiola was animated on the touchline and exchanged words with Fernandes, leading to the Portuguese midfielder putting his finger to his lips.

It's no wonder Guardiola was stressed.

Man City are now a mammoth 25 points behind Liverpool, although they could close that gap to 22 points if they win their game in hand.

They've also lost seven times in the Premier League this season, more than the last two campaigns combined.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has down the Premier League double over Guardiola, and has emerged victorious in three of the four games they have played.

It's not all doom and gloom for Guardiola, though.

Despite the Premier League being out of reach, they look set to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals after seeing off Real Madrid in their first leg at the Bernabeu.

They have also already won the Community Shield and the League Cup and are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

So Guardiola may be disappointed by what his side have done in the league this season, but they'll still end the season with at least two trophies.
