KFC decided to get involved in a bit of football Twitter banter on Monday afternoon. The popular chicken-based fast-food restaurant produced a thread on ‘Premier League teams were KFC menu items’.It’s an idea that we’ve seen a few times in recent months. We’ve had a ‘Twitter thread of every Premier League club if they were a room in the house goes viral.’And we’ve also seen a ‘Twitter thread of every Premier League club if they were a drink goes viral.’And KFC have jumped on the bandwagon. However, they only managed nine Premier League club - as well as chucking in a wildcard.Let’s take a look at the Finger lickin’ good thread:

Liverpool - Trilogy Box Meal

"A truly unrivalled front three. Completely overpowered, but a little much for some".

Mohamed Salah is the fiery Zinger Burger, Sadio Mane is the Mini Fillet strip and Roberto Firmino is the small Popcorn Chicken. Supporting the ‘front-three’ are the fries, regular side, one KFC Original Dip and a drink. A great squad.

Arsenal - Boneless Banquet

"Looks great, but lacks a spine".

They play nice football but aren’t tough enough - something that’s been said about Arsenal for years. The Boneless Banquet includes chicken breast Mini Fillets, plus Popcorn Chicken, regular fries, regular side, one KFC Original Dip and drink.

Manchester United - Fries

"Divides opinion; some say not as good as before".

We all know KFC fries are pretty rubbish.

Spurs - Water

"Loves a bottle".

Well played, KFC. Spurs are the only side who can finish third in a two-horse title race.

Chelsea - Coleslaw

"Everyone judges those who choose it".

Calling out Chelsea fans. Brave.

Newcastle - Snackbox

"Love a cheap option".

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley loves to save his money. So too do snackbox purchasers.

Everton - Piece of Chicken

"Always just sort of been there, not bothering no one".

Everton have never been relegated in their history. Let’s hope chicken never gets relegated from KFC’s menu.

Sheffield United - Mash

"A new and popular edition, certainly punching above its weight".

Not as good as fries but doing its thing in its own unique way. The Blades were only promoted to the Premier League last season and they still harbour hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Man City - Mini Fillet Burger

"Not available in Europe".

Brutally brilliant.

Sunderland - Double down

"Not actually been around for a while and probably never coming back".

So instead of a normal breaded bun, KFC used two pieces of fried chicken as the bun containing bacon, cheese, and sauce. It’s probably no surprise it was discontinued and fell off the face of the earth - much like former Premier League side Sunderland, who are now in League One.

But what about other Premier League sides?

Well, the replies were full of suggestions. Here are some of the best:

Wolves - Rice box

Wishes it was from some exotic country like Portugal but is actually just English.

West Ham - Gravy

Sometimes s**t but sometimes decent.

Southampton - Corn Cob

Easily forgettable. Not quite sure who likes it and how it’s been around for so long.

Leicester - Vegan Burger

Have been growing in popularity for a while now and its fans are really proud of themselves.
