UFC news: Khabib Nurmagomedov offered £76 million to fight Floyd Mayweather

UFC 242 Khabib v Poirier

Khabib Nurmagomedov has been offered £76 million to fight Floyd Mayweather in Saudi Arabia, according to The Sun.

Speculation about a crossover fight between the Russian and American has been hot over the last few months, and it's now being reported that offers have been put on the table.

Verbals between the two parties have been ongoing for months now, with Mayweather consistently saying he's ready to fight 'The Eagle', but only if there are certain rules and regulations with regards to the fight.

One possible option could be a 12-round fight which is 11 rounds of boxing and one round of MMA. This was originally mentioned by Khabib's father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, and it was something that would interest the UFC Lightweight champion, but it's not yet known whether 'Money' would agree to it.

One thing Mayweather would agree too, however, is a lovely pay day, and he's already openly admitted he'd fight BOTH Khabib and Conor McGregor on the same day for a cool $600 million. He's also said it should be a PPV where people could watch it for a ridiculous price of £250.

Of course, all of this speculation so far is exactly that... speculation.

Nothing concrete has come out of all this chat, and it's still a long way away from becoming a reality, but latest reports from The Sun seem to think an offer has finally been made to Khabib's team.

According to their report, an offer of £76 million has been made to the Russian for the fight with Mayweather to be held in Saudi Arabia.

This destination has become very popular in combat sports recently, with events such as Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz II taking place there, as well as a few WWE pay-per-views.

There has been no mention as of yet to whether or not it will be all boxing, all MMA, or a special modified fight, but it seems like it's a step in the right direction to making it official.

However, Khabib only has one thing to focus on right now and that is UFC 249 where he will square off against Tony Ferguson.
