RB Leipzig have beaten Tottenham 3-0 (4-0 on aggregate) to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time.Jose Mourinho's side were comprehensively outplayed by their German counterparts for the second time in three weeks tonight, with Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer scoring twice in the Red Bull Arena.Spurs were crippled by injuries going into the tie, with Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and January signing Stephen Bergwijn all unavailable.But a woeful display between the sticks by Hugo Lloris - who was guilty of mistakes for the first two goals - effectively handed the tie to Leipzig in the opening stages of the first half.Substitute Emil Forsberg struck late on with his first touch to seal a memorable victory for the Bundesliga outfit.Spurs actually started the brighter of the two sides, but Leipzig struck first in the ninth minute thanks to the first hapless piece of goalkeeping from Lloris.Werner's lay-off was struck sweetly by Sabitzer from distance, but the Austrian's shot should never have found its way past Spurs' French goalkeeper diving to his right.
Lloris' first howler meant Mourinho's side have now not kept a clean sheet since February 2.
The Frenchman's second mistake of the night on 21 minutes was arguably the worst of the two, with Serge Aurier also guilty of an error in the build-up to the goal.
The Ivorian right-back's poor defensive header presented the ball to Angelino and the Spaniard's cross was powerfully met at the near post by Sabitzer, leaving Lloris hopelessly wrong-footed and then humiliated.
Spurs struggled to improve in the start of the second-half, with Leipzig continuing to look the more threatening side going forward in the form of the effervescent Werner.
Chances were few and far between as the tempo of the game drastically slowed down in the final half hour, with Spurs just unable to create meaningful attempts on Peter Gulasci's goal.
It was Leipzig who struck the final blow of the evening on 87 minutes as Forsberg capitalised on a ricochet in the area to fire the ball past Lloris with his first touch after coming on.
