Tottenham Hotspur didn't have much to cheer about during their Champions League tie against RB Leipzig.Having limped their way through the group stages with just three wins, Spurs looked to stand a decent chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals when they were drawn to face the Germans. That's not to say that Leipzig are in any way a bad team, as Tottenham would quickly find out, but it looked a generous draw considering they could have faced Barcelona or Juventus.Nevertheless, Tottenham were facing an uphill battle from the first leg as their suffered a 1-0 defeat in north London, courtesy of Timo Werner's penalty, that actually flattered them. But there was no such moderation during the return leg in Germany as Marcel Sabitzer's brace within 21 minutes left Spurs needing their own Champions League miracle.

RB Leipzig 3-0 Tottenham (4-0)

However, the spirit that saw them fight back against Ajax last season was completely absent as Leipzig maintained their dominance and wrapped up the tie with Emil Forsberg's late strike.

The whole display was an indictment of how bad things have become at Tottenham, both in regards to their injury crisis and the negative brand of football that has festered under Jose Mourinho.

And one of few moments of joy for Tottenham fans actually came from Japhet Tanganga, 20, who hadn't played a single game in the first-team before this season.

Tanganga's WWE move

The youngster didn't pull up any trees during his first European away day, but he did go viral across social media for wiping out Dayot Upamecano with a whopping shoulder barge.

Tanganga was providing protection for Hugo Lloris as he sprinted out to collect the ball and despite him doing so easily, the young Englishman channelled his inner WWE superstar just to make sure.

Check out the amusing clip down below.

You know Tottenham were dire when this was practically their match highlight.

The enthusiasm of their young player has certainly tickled fans on social media, though, with the clip amassing hundreds of retweets and a whopping 15,000 up-votes on Reddit's football board.

However, it will do little to save them from the inevitable scorns and quips from rival fans as well as the reality that Mourinho hasn't offered some sort of revolution at the club.

Spurs are now unable to win a trophy this season after Colchester United eliminated them from the Carabao Cup, Norwich City dumped them out of the FA Cup and now this.

The one thing that Spurs fans were hoping to see from Mourinho, arguably at the expense of a dip in footballing style, was that long-anticipated trophy, but supporters will have to wait a little longer.

Or... would it count if Tanganga went after the Universal Championship? No? It was worth a shot.
