Conor McGregor has been lauded a hero for his generosity following his $1 million dollar donation to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation.

McGregor, along with his Proper 12 Whisky Company officially wrote the check to the foundation, which was founded by Frank Siller, whose brother Stephen Siller was killed in the World Trade Centre attack.

McGregor said:

“First responders around the world are the true-life heroes. They are the ones running into emergency situations.”

Siller, the Chairman and CEO of the foundation, claimed that McGregor’s donation was incredible and offered a personal message to the UFC fighter saying:

“Conor, you’re gonna change the lives of many great heroes and families left behind.

“You’re telling them that people care, that America cares. And, that if somebody goes out there and gives their kids a kiss goodbye and doesn’t come home, Conor McGregor is gonna make sure that those families are taken care of.”

Thank you and God bless you, Conor.

When asked what he thought made global superstar McGregor donate such a large amount to the foundation, Siller said:

“Number one he heard about my brother’s story a firefighter who died and showed tremendous courage to get to ground zero and gave up his life.

“It takes courage to get in that UFC ring but as Conor said the real heroes are the people who risk their lives for you and me”

Primarily what the foundation aims to do is relieve the mortgages of the first responders who died in the line of duty that have young kids left behind.

The foundation’s goal is to ensure stability and security to these families facing sudden and tragic loss.

It expects to deliver 250 mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with small children, and catastrophically injured veterans by the end of 2020 this year.
