Rob Gronkowski is close to finalising a deal with WWE. The former New England Patriots tight end retired from NFL in 2018 and is now 'deep in talks' with the company over swapping the football field for the squared circle.  That's according to Ryan Satin, who broke the story on Tuesday night during his segment on WWE Backstage. "According to multiple sources, former NFL star, three-time Super Bowl champion and current Fox Sports NFL analyst Rob Gronkowski is deep in talks with WWE," he said. "He's close to finalising a deal."While the capacity in which he'll be used is unclear at this time, I'm told Gronk could make an appearance as early as March 20 on Friday Night SmackDown in New Orleans."Check out the clip of Satin's report below:

That's pretty massive news and it sounds like we could see Gronkowski in the ring very soon.

But it wouldn't be the first time.

The NFL legend made an appearance at WresleMania 33 in 2017, getting involved in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Gronk, who was sitting in the front row, jumped the barricade and helped Mojo Rawley win the match, delivering a massive shoulder charge to Jinder Mahal.

He has also been pictured recently with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, posing for photos ahead of Super Bowl LIV.

The former tight end has even previously spoken about wanting to work in WWE one day.

"At one time I wanted to be a WWE wrestler. I still do," Gronk said before retiring from NFL

"I want to go in the ring once and mess around and jump off the ropes and do a Stone Cold stunner."

Well, that dream could soon be realised and we expect speculation around Gronkowski's WWE deal to grow in the coming weeks.
