Liverpool need another European comeback to progress in the Champions League this season.

The Reds have made a name for themselves on the continent by battling against the odds, most notably fighting back from 3-0 down against AC Milan to win on penalties in the 2005 final.

But most recently, Liverpool wrapped up the biggest semi-final comeback in history by winning 4-0 against Barcelona to avenge the 3-0 defeat they suffered at Camp Nou.

In other words, Jurgen Klopp's men have something of a penchant for upsetting the applecart and that makes the task they face from Atletico Madrid look easier than you might expect.

Liverpool failed to muster a single shot on target during the first leg, therefore missing out on a potentially crucial away goal and lost 1-0 courtesy of Saul Niguez's early opener.

The challenge facing Liverpool

And while winning 2-0 at Anfield might seem pretty paltry by Liverpool's standards, the resilient nature of Atletico's defence means scoring goals liberally will be no easy task.

That's not to mention an away goal from the Spaniards would really put the cat amongst the pigeons, so Liverpool will need to be on the ball on the back of a few uncharacteristic wobbles.

So, there's plenty at stake in Liverpool's mission to retain the Champions League crown and you could forgive Kopites for feeling nervous over the course of the afternoon.

Liverpool fan's epic trailer

But one way they can ditch the nerves for sheer excitement is by looking back to some of those famous European nights and find comfort in the positive indicators from the past.

Well, look no further than Liverpool fan and YouTuber 'RLFComps' who has used their video-editing wizardry to produce a trailer for the Atletico game that's near-guaranteed to give you goosebumps.

With clips of Steven Gerrard smashing in his screamer against Olympiacos and Dejan Lovren heading home THAT winner over Borussia Dortmund, there's plenty of clips to get the spine tingling.

But don't just take our word for it, check out the full montage down below to get yourself hyped:

In the words of the video: bring the noise.

There is no fortress in sport that compares to Anfield and no matter what becomes of the Liverpool team tonight, you can guarantee that their supporters will cheer them on for every second.

And that means Diego Simeone will need to organise and drill his defence even tighter not just to withhold the Liverpool attack, but to resist the extra energy and spirit instilled in them by the crowd.

Nothing is guaranteed in football at the best of times, but seldom is that truer than when a second leg in front of the Kop is involved. Strap yourselves in for the ride, Atletico.
