Manchester United continued their good form with a sensational 2-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.
And it was a piece of brilliance that saw them open the scoring after 30 minutes.
United had a free-kick in a dangerous position roughly 30 yards from goal.
With Fred and Bruno Fernandes standing over the ball, it looked as if they would simply whip it into the box for one of their bigger players to get on the end of.
However, they managed to deceive Man City and almost everyone at home.
Fernandes clipped a ball over perfectly to Anthony Martial, who volleyed past Ederson to give his side the lead.
It was all over in a blink of an eye and was clearly a move that had been practiced extensively on the training ground.
But how exactly did it all play out? New footage has emerged giving a close up view of the goal.
It shows Martial looking completely uninterested on the edge of the box, with Sergio Aguero given the task of marking him.
It looked as if Fred will put the ball into the box after placing the ball down. Fernandes also had his eyes in the box, hinting that they would be launching it into the mixer.
But both the Frenchman and Fernandes burst into action when Fred raised his arm.
Aguero switched off for a split second which was enough for Martial to go past him.
And he then did the rest as he made it 1-0.
The best thing is that Fernandes and Martial didn’t even look at each other once.
But they had clearly perfected the move on the training ground and, fortunately for them, it paid off when it mattered most.
While Martial got the credit for the finish, it wouldn’t have been possible if it were not for Fernandes’ perfectly weighted ball.
And De Gea was just one man that raved about him after the game.
“He’s a smart, smart player. He’s clever on the pitch,” he told MUTV, per the Metro.
“‘He’s a different player. When he has the ball he can do so many things so this is why Manchester United signed Bruno.
“He’s perfect for us and Anthony as well. It was a great free-kick for the goal. Let’s keep looking forward, keep winning games and enjoy the win.”
