Israel Adesanya continued his stranglehold over the 185-pound division this past weekend by taking down yet another challenger in the form of Yoel Romero.

He won via unanimous decision, but the bout was anything but entertaining at the end of the day.

From Romero's little movement in round one to both men standing off each other and being afraid to attack, it made for a pretty boring main event.

But all that matters for The Last Stylebender is that he chalks up another win on his record book, which takes him to 19-0 in professional MMA fights and it was his eighth successive victory under the UFC banner.

In recent times the New Zealander has gotten into a war of words with the light heavyweight king - Jon Jones - but he's still got a lot left to do in the middleweight division, and he's already taken down names such as Kelvin Gastelum and Robert Whittaker.

But if Adesanya is still holding the title at the end of 2020, he could face the winner of a fight that's due to go down in the summer.

Per Brett Okamoto of ESPN, the company that now stream UFC pay-per-views, they are now in the process of finalizing Darren Till against Robert Whittaker.

That fight is set to go down in Dublin, Ireland on a UFC Fight Night Card, and the tentative date for it happening is August 15, 2020.

Whittaker hasn't been seen since Adesanya dropped him back in October 2019, meanwhile Till won his debut fight at middleweight in the UFC with a split decision victory over Gastelum in November.

It is no doubt going to be a hard-hitting fight between the two men, and the winner could be guaranteed a title fight in late 2020.

Whittaker sits at the top of the official rankings with Till at number five, but they're both world class athletes and it's hard to split them with their skill sets.

August 15 - please come soon!
