Atletico Madrid are in the hat for the Champions League quarter-finals after seeing off Liverpool. It wasn't pretty, but they managed to get the job done in extra-time.Liverpool looked like they would be victorious when Georginio Wijnaldum netted in the first-half.But, despite peppering the Atletico goal, Jan Oblak held firm to send the game into extra-time.Roberto Firmino scored just four minutes into the final 30 minutes, but a brace from Marcos Llorente swung the pendulum the other way.And Alvaro Morata stepped off the bench to put gloss on what was a fantastic night for Atletico as he netted late on.The win mattered that little bit more for Morata. The Spaniard used to play for Chelsea and would no doubt have been itching to get one over one of their Premier League rivals.Morata was also guilty of missing a sitter in the first leg and has not had one of his better seasons in front of goal. Thus, he celebrated passionately after scoring the clincher as he sunk to his knees in front of the Atletico fans. And he showed his passion when the cameras were aimed at him after the game.

It's good to see a player celebrating what was a historic night for Atletico, especially given their struggles in La Liga this season.

But one man who was not impressed was Rio Ferdinand.

You would expect the former Man United player to be happy that Liverpool had just been knocked out of Europe's premier cup competition.

But, instead, he decided to launch a dig at Morata by saying: "I wish he had shown that passion while he was in England."

Bit harsh, don't you think Rio?

Morata won't care about his comments one bit though as he and his side prepare for their quarter-final tie.

After taking down Liverpool, Diego Simeone's side surely have to be one of the favourites for the competition and their resolute style of play will make them very hard to beat.
