The Premier League is meeting with top-flight clubs this morning to discuss the possibility of suspending the season.
Coronavirus continues to spread worldwide and most major sporting events have already been cancelled.
Serie A and La Liga have both been postponed, while it's expected other domestic leagues and even the Champions League and Europa League will follow suit.
So, what will happen if the Premier League is postponed? Well, nobody really knows yet.
The situation is further complicated by this summer's Euro 2020 and Copa America tournaments.
Had it been a year with no international tournaments, domestic games could perhaps have been finished over the summer months.
It's still a possibility the Euros could be pushed back a year, but we just don't know at the moment.
What we do know, is some senior figures at certain Premier League clubs want this season completely voided.
On Thursday night, the Independent's chief football writer Miguel Delaney tweeted:
"Premier League emergency meeting tomorrow.
"Am told some figures at certain clubs disagree with the decision to continue, and feel the season should be voided."
We can only imagine the drama that decision would cause. Look away now, Liverpool fans.
Jurgen Klopp's side are just two wins away from securing their first league title in 30 years.
The only thing that can stop them winning the Premier League is a worldwide pandemic.
Surely though, there's no way the campaign will be voided?
Once the Premier League meets with clubs this morning, we'll have a bit more clarity on the situation.
But as for those clubs looking to void the season? Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Norwich - we're looking at you.
