There have been mixed reports regarding Vince McMahon’s reaction to a photo of Cain Velasquez and Ronda Rousey at WWE headquarters being released on Twitter.
Neither Rousey or Velasquez have been seen inside a WWE ring for months. However, last week, both of them were pictured together at WWE headquarters in Stamford, fuelling rumours of a possible return for both of them in the near future.
With WrestleMania 36 just around the corner, this would be the perfect time to bring back two names that would attract more people to WWE programming.
There have been mixed reports about how Vince McMahon has reacted to the photo of Cain Velasquez and Ronda Rousey together at WWE headquarters being released on Twitter.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via Wrestling Inc, the photo caused ‘quite the stir’ in the WWE office as Rousey's visit to company HQ was supposed to be top secret to the point that no one was supposed to know she was there, besides a few higher-ups.
One source noted to the Observer that the Vince McMahon was ‘freaking out badly’ over the photo of Rousey and Velasquez, knowing he couldn't fire the leaker since it was Velasquez himself.
Another source described this situation to the newsletter as ‘overblown’, adding people were more laughing about the photo, rather than ‘freaking out’ over it.
Many people believe Rousey and Velasquez were both at WWE headquarters to discuss their futures with the company. However, there is no official word as to why they were at WWE offices.
Rowdy’s last appearance for WWE was when she lost the Raw Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in the main event of WrestleMania 35 last April.
As for Velasquez, he hasn’t been seen in WWE since he lost to Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia last October.
There have been rumours that Velasquez would return to WWE soon. He even stated at the start of the year that he would be in the Royal Rumble match, but that never happened.
The former UFC Champion is yet to be assigned to a brand in WWE, so it’s unclear as to who he would be feuding against once he does return to the ring.
As for Rousey, she’s not expected to be back in a WWE ring until at least after WrestleMania 36, but it is possible that plans may have changed for her.
When she does return, Rowdy will likely reignite her rivalry with Lynch, the current Raw Women’s Champion who hasn’t lost the title she won from Rousey at last year’s Showcase of Immortals.
