How the last 20 Premier League seasons would have finished if they were cancelled after 29 games

Arsenal v Manchester City - Premier League

There is a genuine chance there will be no more matches played in the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Matches have initially been postponed until April due to the coronavirus outbreak but it seems incredibly unlikely they will resume in just three weeks' time.

The Premier League will be having a meeting on Thursday with the 20 clubs to decide what should happen to the season now. Almost every side has played 29 games and have just nine more matches to play.

Can it be delayed and played over the summer?

Should it be rendered null and void?

Or should they end it now and take the league positions as they are?

That last scenario seems unlikely but it would see Liverpool crowned champions, while Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Norwich would be relegated.

And it got us thinking.

Manchester City v Liverpool - Premier League

How would the final Premier League table look in previous years had it just stopped after 29 matches?

So GMS decided to have a look.

Obviously, because every team doesn't play at the same time, it's impossible to have everyone playing exactly 29 matches. But here's how the previous 20 Premier League seasons would look if the campaign was stopped at this stage every year:
