Surely anyone and I mean anyone, even with half a string of common sense wouldn’t ask UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to punch them right?
Apparently not.
A video has surfaced online of a fan who was either brave, stupid or both, asking Khabib to deliver him a body punch, which he notably regretted his decision immediately.
At the time of this video, Khabib was sidelined from the action in the Octagon as he was carrying an injury.
A weight cut gone wrong prevented him from competing for the interim lightweight title against his upcoming opponent Tony Ferguson at UFC 209.
Whilst training for his anticipated return, the ‘Dagestani Destroyer’ was clearly having some fun in his time doing so.
After getting up from the punch the pair did hug it out. Fair play to the guy for getting up in short time, I think I’d still be down now, three years later.
Nurmagomedov is next scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 but has kept the fire burning between him and rival Conor McGregor. Speaking after his fight with Dustin Poirier Khabib stated that Poirier was “far tougher” than McGregor, before going on to say that Poirier was a “very serious” opponent.
Khabib has also gone on to what he thinks is the true difference between himself and McGregor which he describes as "I have a big, big fire inside and I want to be the best fighter in the world, not the best fighter from my country, but the best of seven billion people"
With many UFC fans desperate to see how a McGregor and Khabib rematch would play out, time will only tell if the pair will face off again in the Octagon, but with the money that would be involved in said rematch, Dana White will surely be looking to make it happen.
